Two way sync between Jira and Slack

Respond to Jira activity notifications directly from Slack without having to switch context.

What’s it handy for?

A major benefit of integrating Slack and Jira is that notifications become two-way, with options to comment, assign, transition, and more from Slack. This allows users to collaborate and work on Jira issues directly from within Slack, which can help streamline workflows and save valuable time. Messages in Slack can also be used to create new issues in Jira, allowing users to quickly create new tasks and assign them to team members.

A few Uses for this workflow:

  • Better collaboration: The two-way integration between Slack and Jira allows for seamless collaboration between team members. Users can quickly and easily assign tasks, comment on issues, and transition them to different stages, all without having to leave the Slack platform.
  • Improved visibility: With notifications becoming two-way, team members can stay up-to-date on Jira issues even if they don't have direct access to the Jira platform. This can help improve visibility and ensure that everyone has the information they need to make informed decisions and complete tasks.
  • More efficient task management: By being able to create new Jira issues directly from within Slack, team members can quickly and easily add tasks to the backlog, assign them to team members, and set due dates. This can help improve task management and ensure that tasks are completed on time.
  • Enhanced transparency: With the ability to comment and assign tasks from within Slack, team members can keep track of what's happening with Jira issues in real-time. This can help improve transparency and ensure that everyone is on the same page.

To get started:

  • You will be asked to connect your account when you perform you first action in Slack. You can also manually trigger connection by typing /jira-plus connect
